Angled start
An angled start is a manoeuvre you may be asked to carry out during your driving test.
You may be asked to pull over on the left, leaving about a cars length from a parked car.
You will then be asked to pull away when it's safe.
Just to contrast & compare, this is what pulling away from the left looks like and we would use our POM routine to do this safely.

When carrying out the angled start, we will also use our POM routine to ensure it is done safely, but there are a few things we need to do different to make it safer:

When pulling away, we need to do this at a slower speed and steer more.
We should put a signal on, there may be road users we cannot see that this will benefit.
As we are turning out at a steep angle, we must carry out another blindspot check, marked in blue in the diagram above.
