Private Practise
If possible, it is useful if you can gain experience by doing as much private practise away from your lessons as you can.
In Section Three of “The Official DVSA Guide to Learning to Drive” are a series of notes for the driver accompanying you on your private practise.
The accompanying driver should read these notes, this will allow you to make the most of your private practise sessions and also ensure it is done legally.
Tell your instructor if you went for a drive and talk to them about what went well and what could have been better.
