Exercise
Using a diagram below:
1. Pick an entry point.
2. Pick a destination.
3. Follow the route through, what lane do you use?
Remember, safety is the priority, not the route!
If you are in the wrong lane, you must change lanes safely, if you can't, just go the wrong way....you can always turn around and come back!

Look for signs and road markings to help you decide what lane to use or what lane to move into.
Wrong road markings on Fleetsbridge Roundabout!
When entering this roundabout from the east, the lane markings clearly tell us what lanes to use, we can see 'POOLE - WIMB - WIMB' as we approach.
If we wanted to go to Wimborne we are told to use the middle lane (W1) or the right hand lane (W2).
If we follow the middle lane (W1) the road marking changes to DORC(ester)! If we stay in this lane, it does take us to the Dorchester exit.
To solve this, if we stay in the right hand lane (W2) halfway through the roundabout, we get a choice of two lanes for the Wimborne exit.
